FAQ
What is the best way to dress for a shoot?
How to Dress Your Family
The first step is to decide what kind of feel you want for your session.
Warm & Cozy Tones
If you’re going for a warm color palette, consider shades like mustard, brown, rust, cream, burgundy, and taupe.
Light & Airy Tones
For a softer, pastel look, choose clothing that is neutral and light-toned. Great options include cream, white, beige, gray, muted pinks or purples, coral, rose, and light blue.
Dark & Moody Tones
If you prefer a moodier style, pick deeper colors, but balance them with a few lighter pieces to keep the overall look from feeling too heavy.
You can also choose one or two pops of color and keep the rest of the palette neutral for balance.
✅ Please Do:
Choose well-fitting clothing that you feel confident in.
Start with the pickiest person’s outfit and build everyone else’s looks around that.
Coordinate—don’t match. Pick colors that complement each other instead of everyone wearing the same thing.
Mix in different textures and subtle prints for visual interest.
Incorporate lots of neutral tones to tie everything together.
🚫 Avoid:
Thin, close-together stripes (they create strange effects in photos).
Small plaids or buffalo prints, especially in high-contrast colors.
Large logos, cartoon characters, or words on clothing (unless you’re going for a specific vintage or themed look).
Too many dark colors—they can make photos look flat or dull. Avoid solid black tops when possible.
Neon colors—they reflect color onto the skin and can distort tones in photos.
What forms of payment do you accept?
I accept the following forms of payment:
VENMO | CASH APP | PAYPAL
A non-refundable retainer is required to secure your session date.
The remaining balance is due in full prior to your session.
Do you provide studio sessions?
My main focus is natural light and outdoor settings, where families can relax and be themselves. However, I understand that weather doesn’t always cooperate! When needed, we can explore indoor locations that still offer beautiful natural light.
Please note — my style is not studio-based or heavily posed and I do not use artificial studio lighting.
Do you travel outside of Lubbock?
I'm so glad this question is on your mind! The answer is, you bet I do, with a fee of course. Gas is not cheap!
